Audition

To be admitted at Danseuddannelsen by Sara Gaardbo you must have dance experience and the courage to confront your weaknesses in order to take your abilities to the next level. We are interested in dancers, who are curious, ambitious, and full of passion. We are looking for diamonds in the rough and we highly appreciate diversity, raw talent and exciting fusion of genres and backgrounds. We admit dancers who dare standing out and who are open for new challenges.

The applicant must primarily be experienced within Contemporary Dance and/or Hip Hop. In addition we also admit applicants with another background for example Gymnastics, Capoeira, Parkour, Ballroom, Ballet, Street Styles etc.

  • The audition runs throughout one day and takes place at the education, however, if you are from abroad and you do not have the possibility of joining the audition at our studio in Copenhagen, you are permitted to audition through prerecorded video material. The video must be linked to through the application form and have a maximum duration of 2 minutes.

  • We admit dancers in the age of 17-26 years. In some cases we grant a dispensation . To be admitted at the education you must have dance experience, a strong commitment, and a desire to face new challenges.

  • At the audition you will be taught in contemporary technique and hip hop.

  • You will have the opportunity to perform a solo of maximum 1 minute, however, this is not mandatory.

  • There will be an interview/dialogue at the end of the day for the applicants who proceed. You will be told immediately after the interview whether you are admitted or not.

  • To make sure your body is ready for one year at the dance education, it is mandatory to get an individual physiological check by our connected physiotherapist Dorthe Camilla Jensen, before the start of the education, when accepted.

FIRST SELECTION

13:30-15.00 - Solo and individual dialogue

SECOND SELECTION

16:00-17:00 - Dialogue with the chosen applicants and handover of contract.
